Our Financial Services Client in North Houston is looking for a Senior Security Engineer to join their team. This individual will play a key role in strengthening security posture through automation, vulnerability management, and continuous improvement of our defensive capabilities. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on technical expert who enjoys solving complex problems, building scalable solutions, and driving proactive security initiatives across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Work extensively with the organization’s vulnerability management program, focusing on identification, prioritization, remediation, and reporting of vulnerabilities across systems and applications.
- Create and optimize custom scripts and tooling using PowerShell and Python to automate security processes and integrations.
- Collaborate with IT, DevOps, and application teams to ensure timely remediation of vulnerabilities and configuration issues.
- Perform ongoing security assessments of infrastructure, endpoints, and cloud environments.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of security controls, processes, and monitoring capabilities.
- Stay current on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 2+ years in a senior or lead security engineering role.
- Advanced scripting and automation skills with PowerShell and Python (required).
- Proven experience with vulnerability management platforms (e.g., Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7, Wiz, etc.).
- Strong understanding of network, endpoint, and cloud security principles.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, GSEC, CEH, OSCP) are a plus but not required.
