Senior Security Engineer – Information Security
Akamai's Information Security team safeguards Akamai, its customers, and the Internet worldwide. You will report directly to the Director of Security Engineering and have the opportunity to address global security challenges.
Responsibilities
- Research and stay current on adversarial techniques, emerging vulnerabilities, and related detection and response strategies.
- Conduct network, application, and system security assessments to identify risks and provide mitigation strategies.
- Assist with design and deployment of security risk‑mitigating controls.
- Perform compliance and policy‑based investigations of internal systems.
- Document security guidelines, procedures, and policies with a particular emphasis on NIST 800‑53 and NIST 800‑171.
- Provide security guidance and consultation to Akamai business units.
- Leverage emerging AI capabilities to enhance new and existing processes and automation.
- Develop scripts and tools to support the above functions.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree.
- Proven experience with network security analysis or intrusion management.
- Experience with malware and vulnerability identification and mitigation.
- Experience identifying software and application compromises and vulnerabilities.
- Experience with secure deployment and usage of infrastructure‑as‑a‑service.
- Demonstrated experience working in a FedRAMP and/or CMMC certified environment.

Compensation
For U.S.-based candidates only, base salary ranges from $112,500 – $202,500 per year. Compensation may include incentive compensation, equity awards, and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP). Eligibility requirements apply.
