Insight Global is seeking a Senior Scientist, Research & Development for a leading regenerative medicine organization. This individual will join a highly collaborative R&D team focused on advancing tissue engineering, stem cell technologies, and cell-based therapeutic development. The role will support innovative and patented projects involving stem cell expansion using microcarrier-based bioreactor systems while contributing to process development, assay execution, and data-driven scientific research. This person will work closely with R&D leadership, scientists, and production teams to advance regenerative medicine initiatives and support the development of next-generation cell therapies.
Responsibilities:
- Perform hands-on laboratory research supporting tissue engineering and regenerative medicine programs
- Execute stem cell culture, expansion, maintenance, differentiation, and characterization activities
- Operate and optimize microcarrier-based cell culture systems and bioreactors for cell expansion applications
- Conduct and support assays including cell viability, stem cell differentiation, tri-lineage differentiation, ELISA, fluorescence microscopy, and other cell characterization techniques
- Analyze experimental data, document results, and maintain technical reports and scientific records
- Support development, optimization, and scale-up of cell culture processes and regenerative medicine technologies
Qualifications:
- PhD with 3+ years of industry or research experience OR Master's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience
- 3-5+ years of experience with one or more of the following: Mesenchymal Stem Cell (MSC) culture, Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells (iPSCs), stem cell differentiation, potency assays, cell isolation from tissue, microcarrier-based cell expansion, or tissue engineering applications
- Hands-on experience with bioreactors for cell expansion, microcarrier-based culture systems, ELISA assays, tissue dissociation equipment, and cell culture processing equipment
- Experience performing or supporting stem cell differentiation assays, tri-lineage differentiation assays, cell viability testing, fluorescence microscopy, and cell characterization assays
Nice to Have:
- Experience scaling MSCs or iPSCs using microcarrier-based expansion in bioreactors
- Experience with extracellular vesicles (EVs) and/or exosome research
- Assay development and optimization experience
- Experience with SOP development, validation documentation, and work within cGMP or cGLP environments
- Experience with flow cytometry, PCR, or advanced cell characterization techniques
- Technology transfer and process development experience
- Experience partnering with manufacturing or production teams in laboratory settings
- Background supporting commercialization or scale-up of regenerative medicine products
