About the Role

FGI is seeking a Relationship Manager to manage a diverse portfolio of asset-based lending and commercial finance clients. This role serves as the key day-to-day contact for borrowers, overseeing funding activity and monitoring collateral and account performance. The Relationship Manager also supports successful onboarding and ongoing management of portfolio accounts, working cross-functionally to ensure a smooth client experience from close through the life of the relationship.

The ideal candidate will bring experience in asset-based lending, commercial finance, trade finance, portfolio management, underwriting, or field examination. This person should be comfortable working directly with borrowers, reviewing collateral and financial trends, and operating in a fast-paced environment where accuracy, responsiveness, and sound judgment are critical.

This role requires someone who can balance strong client service with disciplined portfolio oversight. The successful candidate will be analytical, detail-oriented, and able to help clients navigate their working capital needs while protecting the interests of the firm.

The Relationship Manager will report to the Portfolio Manager and may work remotely or from FGI’s New York or Florida office on a hybrid schedule

  • Drive regular portfolio reviews, identify early warning signs, and lead remediation or workout strategies as needed.
  • Support the onboarding of new clients and oversee the transition of new deals into FGI's portfolio.
  • Partner with internal teams including Underwriting, Credit, Operations, Legal, and Business Development to ensure coordinated client support and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records, reporting, and documentation related to portfolio accounts.
