You might be just who we are looking for!We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Radiation Effects Subject Matter Expert to join our team at Amentum. As a Radiation Hardening Specialist, you will be responsible for assessing and mitigating the impact of radiation on system performance. This will involve analyzing environments, transporting those environments through system enclosures, modeling the interaction of radiation with components and sensors, or testing of microelectronic components.
Typical components include integrated circuits, transistors, capacitors, inductors, resistors, diodes, analog circuits, and other electronic components.Duties Include:Support engineering decisions based on radiation effects on overall system performance.Design and harden systems across multiple radiation effects, including dose rate, total ionizing dose (TID), neutron displacement damage (NDD), and single event effects (SEE).Work with interdisciplinary teams to ensure radiation hardening is maintained across the product lifecycle.Assist in test plan development and reviewReview ReportsParticipate in Radiation Review BoardsHelp generate templates and guidesAssist in developing training materials and tools for new hiresAssist with testing efforts, test station setup and validation and verification effortsCollaborate on program requirements and provide feedback on approach to meet requirementsMinimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or other relevant field.10+ years of Radiation Engineering, electronic component testing, or related experience.Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Please note that US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret clearance.Preferred Requirements:Master's degree or PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Nuclear Engineering.10+ years of radiation engineering experience with the Department of DefenseHas a current Secret or Top-Secret DoD security clearance.Compensation & BenefitsHIRING SALARY RANGE: $120K - $190K (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)This position includes a competitive benefits package.
