Selby Jennings is working with a 50-person fintech startup that is looking to add a Senior/Lead QA Engineer to build the firm's first test automation infrastructure . The company is backed by a leading hedge fund group and is seeking a highly technical QA professional to build and scale the testing culture across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Define and own the overall QA strategy for manual and automated testing across all product areas.
- Collaborate with engineering managers, product owners, and developers to embed quality at every stage of the SDLC.
- Prioritize the team's workload and manage QA efforts across concurrent feature streams and bug-fix cycles.
- Build robust automation scripts to test business functionality, including standard and custom objects, workflows, APIs, and integrations.
- Continuously increase automation coverage by identifying gaps, writing new test suites, and refactoring brittle tests.
- Define the QA playbook, including SOPs, bug severity rubrics, release checklists, and quality metrics that future team members will follow.
Qualifications
- 3-7+ years of experience in a similar QA or test automation-adjacent role.
- Experience with modern automation frameworks (such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, etc.).
- Experience with Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript .
- Hands-on experience with a loan origination system (Encompass, Empower, Byte, etc. ) is highly desirable , but not required.
Expected Compensation
- $125,000-$150,000 base salary + cash bonus
