Senior Property Accountant – Commercial PortfolioIn this critical role, you will act as the financial expert for a designated portfolio of commercial properties. You will ensure accurate and timely monthly reporting, maintain general ledgers, oversee lease and CAM processes, and collaborate with property managers to enhance operational efficiency and client reporting quality.Key ResponsibilitiesReview and research property management transactions, including charges and billing adjustmentsAnalyze tenant lease language and ensure accurate system inputMaintain and review Rent Roll, Tenant Ledger, Aged Delinquency, and Lease Expiration reportsManage cash, accrual, tax, and GAAP-based general ledgersPrepare and record journal entriesPrepare and distribute monthly financial reporting packages and variance analysesReconcile all balance sheet and general ledger accountsOversee and understand CAM reconciliation processesCollaborate on annual operating budgetsPrepare construction project draws and reconcile job costs/intercompany balancesHandle partnership accounting, including contributions, distributions, and sales/acquisitionsReview AP invoices and cash receipt batches for accuracyMonitor cash requirements and prepare funding requests/distributionsSupport team initiatives and special projectsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting (Master's a plus)CPA or CPA candidate preferred5+ years of direct commercial property accounting experienceStrong knowledge of GAAP and property accounting practicesExcellent communication skillsHigh attention to detail and accuracyAbility to work independently and meet tight deadlinesProfessional, service-oriented mindset
