Senior Project ManagerJoin our team as a Senior Project Manager within the Infrastructure Platform services at our departmental PMO, overseeing intricate mainframe migration technology projects in our Information Technology division. You'll employ top-tier methodologies, tools, and processes to guide projects, ensuring they remain within budget and schedule, and seamlessly transition to full hardware and software implementation. These senior-level programs involve collaboration with multiple Amtrak departments, external vendors, and subcontractors, making this role pivotal in orchestrating successful project outcomes.Key Responsibilities:Lead and coordinate the planning, execution, and monitoring of the TPF mainframe migration project, ensuring alignment with business objectives, timelines, and financial plans.Drive communication and collaboration among internal and external stakeholders, including development, data center, network, security teams, and vendors.Apply best practices and methodologies in TPF mainframe development, testing, deployment, maintenance, and employ DevOps principles and tools.Proactively identify and address risks and issues related to performance, availability, and reliability of the TPF mainframe system during migration.Direct technical leads, project team members, and external consultants/contractors.Your Role:Develop and maintain essential project documentation, including project charters, management plans, requirements, design documents, and implementation plans.Generate weekly program status reports and conduct necessary project meetings to ensure alignment.Manage project schedules using MS Enterprise Project Management and MS Project Professional 2010, reporting schedule and budget variances.Establish and maintain SharePoint project sites within the EPM system.Ensure quality and accuracy in project schedules, baselines, and estimates, reporting variances.Report on risks, ongoing issues, changes, and project activities regularly.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in project management, Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.Minimum seven years of hands-on Program and Project management experience using formal methodologies.Substantial experience in technology management, analysis, and administration.Strong stakeholder interaction skills with an ability to protect departmental interests.Proficiency in MS Project Office Professional, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.Experience with project management tools like MS Project Server (EPM), Primavera, etc.Preferred Qualifications:Four years' experience with project management tools like Microsoft Project Server (EPM).PMP Certification.
