Senior Project ManagerStantec is seeking a Southern California based, highly motivated and technically proficient Senior Project Manager with a diverse background in the Transportation Infrastructure sector to join our growing team of Transportation design engineering professionals.

The role of Senior Project Manager is a fantastic opportunity to be a part of our strong and collaborative team of industry leading professionals, working both independently and together on projects of various sizes and complexities. This individual will be responsible for managing the relationships with some of our most valued Transportation clients, providing exceptional customer service. This position will provide project level design leadership on high profile and transformative transit, roadway and highway design projects. You will play a pivotal role in expanding our existing client and project base to position Stantec to acquire new business. We will rely on your ability to energize and inspire others to promote an environment for success within the team, and to champion new ideas while holding yourself and others to high standards of accountability that ensure timely project delivery, resource efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. At the project level, you will be expected to apply your mature knowledge of the Infrastructure market to manage projects to ensure successful delivery, resource efficiency, and provide innovative solutions.Your Key Responsibilities:Lead and coordinate business development efforts, including market research, client relationships, developing leads, and securing contractsPrepare project proposals and attend pre- and post-proposals meetings/interviewsEstablish, nurture and support the cross-discipline project design processes, communication and best practices, in collaboration with local and business center leadershipAttract, grow, and retain high-quality staff, in collaboration with HR Business Partner, local and BC leadershipCoach and develop team members to achieve high standards in meeting organizational goalsLiaise with clients, agencies and others to obtain and determine project requirements, permits, and approvalsEnsure that client needs are met in a timely and cost-effective mannerLead and be responsible for the preparation of Engineering drawings, cost estimates, and preliminary and final reportsPerform project management duties on major projects, including client and sub-consultant coordination; making presentations to planning commissions, contractors and public agencies; attending client meeting; and visiting job sitesMaintain project budgets, prepare estimates, establish cost controls and maintain project schedules and quality control; prepare monthly billingOrganize and supervise the work of a technical team with regards to the planning, design, processing and construction support of civil engineering projects; provide direction to guide projects to successful completionProvide internal peer review of designs by other land development engineers/technologistsCoordinate designs with stormwater management engineers and incorporate stormwater designs into land development drawingsEnsure projects meet applicable specifications and standards as per the governing municipality and adhere to Stantec's QA/QC programBe the main client contact on the project(s)Collaborate with local area leadership, including Project Managers, to ensure the office meets its operation goals and adheres to Stantec's Project Management frameworkYour Capabilities and Credentials:Experience leading the design and construction support of complex transportation projectsMust have a thorough understanding of roadway, highway, and transit Infrastructure development and construction in CaliforniaMust be a self-motivated individual possessing strong English written and verbal communication skillsExperience with alternative project delivery (APD) projects across a region or nationally is preferredExperience with the role of deputy design manager, design manager, and or quality manager on APD projects is preferredExperience with clients such as Caltrans and LA Metro is preferredMust exhibit attention to detail and accuracyMust be able to coordinate engineering requirements with planning and landscape architecture requirementsMust work well in a team environment and have a collaborative approachA working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and AutoCAD Civil 3D is an assetStrong ability to develop business and promote business relationshipsStrong project planning and delivery experienceMust have valid driver's license and good driving recordAble to travel within the regionEducation and Experience:Bachelor of Science in Civil EngineeringLicensed as a Professional Engineer in CaliforniaMinimum of 10 years of project management experience in California, including ability to organize and supervise the work of other engineers, designers and sub-consultants, related to residential, industrial and commercial development projectsTypical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time.
