Senior Project ManagerTraffic & Mobility Consultants (TMC) is a fast-growing traffic and transportation engineering firm serving both public and private sector clients throughout the state of FL. As a small to mid-sized company, we pride ourselves on agility, technical excellence, and a people-first culture.About the RoleWe are looking for a Senior Project Manager, Signal Designer, to lead complex traffic signal design projects and oversee the successful delivery of transportation infrastructure solutions. This role combines technical expertise in signal design with strong project management and client engagement responsibilities.The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of signal systems, intersection design, and transportation safety, along with experience managing multidisciplinary teams and working closely with public agencies or private clients.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the planning, design, and delivery of traffic signal projects for municipal, state, or private sector clientsOversee preparation of signal design plans, including wiring diagrams, phasing, timing, and equipment specificationsManage project schedules, budgets, staffing, and quality control throughout the project life cycleCoordinate with transportation engineers, roadway designers, planners, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project executionConduct and review traffic signal warrant analyses, intersection control evaluations, and signal timing studiesEnsure compliance with federal, state (e.g., MUTCD, FDOT), and local agency standards and requirementsServe as the primary client contact – developing strong relationships, anticipating needs, and delivering responsive serviceSupport and mentor junior staff and contribute to team development and knowledge sharingAssist in proposal development, scope writing, and business development activitiesQualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related fieldLicensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Florida or ability to obtain within 6 months8+ years of relevant experience in traffic signal design, with at least 3 years in a project or team management roleStrong knowledge of traffic signal operations, signal timing, and related hardware/software systemsProficiency with design tools such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, Synchro, SIDRA, or AGi32 (as applicable)Familiarity with agency standards and permitting processes (e.g., FDOT, local MPOs)Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skillsExperience managing clients, budgets, and cross-functional teamsWhy Join Us?Hybrid work flexibility (home + Tampa office)Competitive salary and performance-based bonus opportunitiesSupportive team culture with opportunities for professional growthExposure to a diverse range of commercial and private sector projectsExcellent benefits package including health, dental, 401(k), and paid time offPhysical DemandsThis role primarily involves working in an office or remote setting, requiring extended periods of sitting, working at a computer, and participating in virtual meetings.The position may also involve light lifting of materials such as laptops or documents.Occasional travel may be required to company offices, project sites, or for in-person meetings and training sessions, depending on project needs.This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
