Our client is a well-established national general contractor with a strong presence across the Northeast and a growing portfolio of complex commercial construction projects throughout New Jersey.
They are currently seeking a Senior Project Manager to join their team in Rahway, NJ. This position will play a key role in managing projects from preconstruction through completion while working closely with clients, subcontractors, consultants, and field leadership.
This opportunity is well-suited for a Senior PM who is comfortable taking ownership of large-scale projects, managing project teams, and maintaining strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
Project & Market Focus:
- Ground-up and large-scale commercial construction
- Healthcare, senior living, multifamily, and other complex commercial projects
- Projects throughout New Jersey and the surrounding Northeast market
- Strong focus on quality, schedule, budget, and client relationships
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead projects from preconstruction through final completion
- Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, and overall project plans
- Manage subcontractor procurement, buyout, and contract administration
- Review and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
- Coordinate closely with Superintendents and field leadership throughout construction
- Maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors
- Monitor project costs, schedule performance, and overall execution
- Identify and resolve project issues while maintaining project objectives
- Lead project meetings and communicate regularly with internal leadership and clients
- Mentor and support Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and other team members
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in commercial construction project management
- Strong background managing ground-up construction projects
- Experience managing projects from preconstruction through completion
- Strong understanding of project budgets, schedules, contracts, and cost control
- Experience managing subcontractors and project teams
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
