This individual will serve a key function in performing air permitting and compliance, industrial wastewater and stormwater compliance, storage tank registration and compliance evaluations, waste management, multi-media environmental compliance audits, development of monitoring and spill prevention and contingency plans, and report writing. In this role, you will have the opportunity to guide and review the work of staff, prepare permits and plans, and interact with clients and senior management.Job ResponsibilitiesPrepare permits and compliance programs for multiple environmental media, including air, wastewater, stormwater, waste, spill prevention and storage tanks, EPCRA (Tier II, TRI)Perform multi-media environmental compliance audits, gap assessments, inspections, and program reviewsDevelop and support implementation and management of various monitoring and spill prevention and contingency plans/programs (SPCC, FRP, SWPPP, Hazardous Waste Contingency Plans, etc.)Provide direct oversight and management of junior staff for specific project assignmentsLead and/or assist in the preparation of proposals including development of scope and costsManage project budgets and assist in invoicing as project or task managerInteracts with and builds relationships with clients, contractors/subcontractors, and internal practice leadersDemonstrates a strong commitment to customer service and responsiveness to client needsManage and deliver on multiple projects and tasks within specific budgets, schedules, and deadlinesPrepare technical documents including reports, plans/programs, permit applications, and other written deliverablesTrain and mentor junior staffWork as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team to support projects located throughout the USQualificationsBachelor's degree in Environmental or Chemical Engineering or Science. Master's degree preferred10+ years of experience working with regulations and environmental permittingProfessional certification preferred40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certificationAbility to effectively manage multiple clients and projectsWillingness and ability to identify new client opportunities is strongly desiredExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilitiesAbility to effectively work independently and in a team environmentPossess reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits and a valid driver's license in good standingLangan provides a rich array of programs and benefits to help its employees advance their careers and enhance the quality of their lives. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, location, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills. Certain roles may be eligible for overtime and participation in the firm's annual bonus and performance review program. Bonuses are discretionary and based on individual job performance and the profitability of the firm.

Employees are also eligible to receive up to 20 days of paid vacation time, 10 days of paid sick time and 10 paid holidays throughout the year. Eligibility and actual paid time off may vary based on local law and factors such as hours worked, related work experience and level.
