Senior Project ManagerThe ideal candidate is a hands-on project leader with deep knowledge of combined-cycle construction, capable of managing OEMs, EPC contractors, and internal stakeholders while delivering technically complex projects safely, on schedule, and within budget. We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to help lead the development and execution of large-scale natural gas-fired power generation projects, including simple-cycle combustion turbines and combined-cycle (1×1, 2×1, 3×1) facilities. This role is responsible for the development and management of the construction portion of the generation assets, including, but not limited to, procurement, EPC execution, commissioning, and commercial operation.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in EPC execution, utility-scale generation asset mixes, and complex stakeholder coordination in fast-paced, capital-intensive environments.ResponsibilitiesProject Leadership & ExecutionLead all phases of CTG/CCGT project execution (development through COD)Manage EPC contractors and OEMs (e.g., GE, Siemens, Mitsubishi)Establish and maintain project scope, schedule, and budget (typically $300MM–$1B+)Ensure alignment with commercial, regulatory, and operational requirementsDrive decision-making and problem resolution across multidisciplinary teamsEngineering & Technical CoordinationIn collaboration with our project engineering team and Owner's Engineer, this candidate shall be knowledgeable on:Gas turbine and steam turbine specifications and integrationHRSG design and performanceBalance of plant (BOP) systems (cooling water, fuel gas, electrical systems)Phased construction approachGrid interconnection requirementsEnvironmental permitsAll applicable buildings and national codesConstruction ManagementOversee site construction activities for:Civil works and foundationsTurbine installation and alignmentHRSG erectionElectrical and I&C installationMonitor contractor productivity, safety, and quality performanceLead site progress reporting and milestone trackingSupport outage coordination for tie-ins (if brownfield project)Schedule & Cost ControlTrack critical path and implement recovery plans as neededWork with our project controls team to monitor and manage:EPC and OEM schedulesEPC and OEM Change ordersContingenciesRisk-adjusted forecastingContract & Commercial ManagementAdminister EPC, OEM, and service contractsManage claims, disputes, and contract negotiationsEnsure adherence to performance guarantees (heat rate, output, availability)Commissioning & StartupIn collaboration with our commissioning and start-up team, support:Review of commissioning and start-up planPre-commissioning and turnoverFirst fire and synchronizationPerformance testing (GT/ST output, HRSG efficiency)Coordinate with operations teams for successful handoffEnsure achievement of COD and contractual milestonesHealth, Safety, and Environmental (HSE)Champion a strong safety culture and zero-incident mindsetEnsure compliance with OSHA and company safety standardsOversee environmental compliance during construction and startupStakeholder ManagementInterface with:Executive leadershipUtility customers / key stakeholdersRegulatory agenciesLocal communitiesDeliver clear, concise project reporting and presentationsExperience10–15+ years of experience in power generation or heavy industrial projects7+ years managing large EPC projects ($100MM+)Demonstrated experience with:Gas turbine projects (Frame units, aeroderivative)Combined-cycle plant construction (1×1 or larger)Proven track record delivering projects:On scheduleWithin budgetMeeting performance guaranteesKnowledge of gas system design and operations including gas flow, construction, contracts, and emergency response.Knowledge of local, state, and federal operating codes and construction codesProficiency with personal computers, construction scheduling software, Microsoft Excel, Power Point Presentations, and other computer software5+ years' experience managing construction-related projects3+ years' experience working with pipeline construction contractors3+ years' experience working with project budgetsTechnical ExpertiseCTG and CCGT plant design and operationHRSG systems and thermodynamic cyclesHigh-voltage systems and grid interconnectionFamiliarity with OEM platformsCertifications (Preferred)PMP (Project Management Professional)OSHA 30 or equivalent safety certificationCore CompetenciesLeadership in complex, high-risk construction environmentsAdvanced schedule and cost control expertiseContract negotiation and claims managementStrong technical problem-solving capabilityExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement skillsAbility to lead cross-functional teams across multiple locationsWork Environment & TravelCombination of office and field-based (construction site) workTravel to site during construction phaseEducationBachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction, Project Management, or other related field of study RequiredMaster's degree or MBA (preferred)About US Tech SolutionsUS Tech Solutions is a global staff augmentation firm providing a wide range of talent on-demand and total workforce solutions.
