Job Summary:
Senior Engineer/Senior Project Manager for private land development projects in Texas, including single‑family subdivisions, sports complexes, and commercial projects.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide civil engineering expertise related to private land development projects, including road and utility design, grading, stormwater management, permitting, and cost estimating.
- Offer expert assistance and instruction to junior engineers and civil technicians on general engineering skills, complex hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, preliminary and final engineering strategies, road profile design, site grading techniques, and ADA compliance.
- Advise and coordinate the preparation of engineering plans and reports for all types of project submittal packages using appropriate software.
- Interact and coordinate directly with all project stakeholders.
- Provide accurate cost estimates and project timelines to stakeholders.
- Manage time for engineering teams.
- Provide construction oversight and contract administration for private land development projects.
- Manage field revisions, RFIs, design changes, and project closeout.
- Write statements of qualifications, prepare project proposals, define scopes of work, develop budgets, and attend meetings with clients and other stakeholders.
- Develop project workflows to create project plans, specifications, and construction drawings.
- Prepare and manage project plans, budgets, and schedules from project start to completion with limited oversight.
- Check and confirm the accuracy of work performed and methods used by other team members.
- Develop and implement strategic plans for business growth, focusing on building relationships, driving marketing initiatives, and advancing business development opportunities.
- Manage and grow a diverse portfolio of private land development projects.
- B.S. in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited university.
Required Qualifications (skills/experience/certifications):
- 10+ years project engineering experience.
- State of Texas PE licensure.
- Mastery of the elements of civil engineering.
- Strong design skills, including conceptual sketching and drafting.
- Strong knowledge of Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Highly motivated, self‑driven, and detail oriented.
- Strong communication, organizational, and technical writing skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications (skills/experience/certifications):
- PM experience is desirable.
Compensation: $125,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year
