Join us and help meet one of the most important energy challenges of our time while building a rewarding career.This Senior Project Accountant will handle all the accounting functions for various Project-level entities and will produce accurate and timely quarterly financial statements and monthly financial reports as required. The hire should be able to perform full cycle accounting functions within their assigned entities. These functions include maintenance of accounts receivable, management of cash payments, lease accounting, debt service, financial account reconciliations and various other cash and reporting activities.The Senior Project Accountant will work closely with Accounting Manager to effectively manage the accounting and report on various projects to investors and management. This role involves applying a broad range of accounting including general ledger, treasury operations, account reconciliations, and the creation of excel schedules. The Senior Project Accountant will have ability to help develop and implement policies, procedures, and other best practices with the assistance of the accounting manager. There are no direct reports with this role.The Senior Project Accountant must be comfortable working independently and working in a cross-functional team environment as this role will collaborate with various departments across the company.ResponsibilitiesMonthly oversight of automated depreciation journals in NetSuiteRecord ASC 842 lease adoption journals and maintain oversight of LeaseQuery recordsRecord development project costs and collaborate with the project execution team to confirm actual costs.Prepare reconciliations for project and fixed asset related accountsReconcile inter-company activity, including inter-company payables, receivables, investment in subsidiaries, and equity.Prepare schedules to support quarterly and annual audited financial statements and disclosure notesProvide supporting work papers as requested by the independent auditorsPrepare supporting documents and record complex journal entries in areas such as, but not limited to project work in progress, fixed assets, cash, prepaids, accrued expenses, leases, various operating expenses and revenues, investment and equitySeek continuous improvement of assigned tasks and identify processes suitable for automation.Maintain desktop procedures for assigned tasks and periodically updateHandles various other duties as assigned by the Accounting ManagerEducation & Experience RequiredBachelor's degree in Accounting required (or CPA exam eligibility based on completed coursework)Minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible accounting experienceExperience with NetSuite, specifically with fixed assets and multi-entity accounting entriesCPA a plus, not requiredIntermediate to advanced Excel skills, including SUMIFS, VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and other core functionsWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)Big Four audit experience is a plusSkills & CompetenciesExcellent verbal and written communication, planning, analysis, and organizational skillsStrong leadership, appraisal, relationship management, and problem solving abilitiesSound judgment and discretion in decision makingSkilled at multitasking with close attention to detailComfortable driving and adapting to process improvementCollaborative team player who thrives in a changing environmentAligned with and motivated by Cypress Creek Energy's mission and valuesLocation: The preferred location for this role is for our office in Durham, NC. Our team operates on a hybrid schedule, with in-office schedule of three days per week.Compensation: The salary range for the position is $80,000-$110,000 plus bonus and benefits.
