About Create on Purpose

Create on Purpose is a new nonprofit building an impact accelerator for the creator economy, built with and for creators. We help creators explore their purpose and develop world-changing ideas through our Creator Impact Studio and creator community. We then help them ignite social impact at creator speed by connecting them with the right foundations, brands, and strategic partners to resource their social impact work. We're looking for someone who's as passionate about the power of creators as they are about social impact.

Who You’d Be Working With

You’d work directly with us, the co-founders. Fitz is an award-winning strategist who co-founded and led the largest creator impact campaigns in history — #TeamTrees, #TeamSeas and #TeamWater — with MrBeast and Mark Rober. Heather spent 25 years inside the businesses that built the creator economy: content partnerships at YouTube through the launches of YouTube TV and YouTube Music, content acquisitions as SVP at Hulu, and founding President of Wonder Project. Between us, we have spent our careers at the intersection of media, technology and social good — and we started Create on Purpose because we kept meeting creators with world-changing ideas and watching the impact world move too slowly to meet them. We decide fast, we’re in the room, and we’d rather work with someone who tells us we’re wrong than someone who waits to be told what to do.

The Role

There is no playbook for this. Nobody has built the accelerator that takes a creator with a world-changing idea and gets them the design help, the coaching, the capital and the production muscle to actually make it real — at the speed creators move. We’re building it, in community, and this is the person who owns it.

You’ll own bringing our programming to life: what it is, how it works, and how it gets better for every cohort. That means sitting at the center of the model itself — influencing the shape of the curriculum with our program design partners, advocating for what earns a place in a creator’s calendar and what doesn’t, building the bench of impact facilitators, coaches and producers who deliver it, and building the evidence that proves what worked and what can be better. You’ll also produce it, because at our stage the person setting the strategy is the person in the room making it land. You are not expected to be a facilitator yourself, but you’re welcome to wear that hat if it’s also a superpower of yours.

You’ll also own producing our industry events, in partnership with our Community Manager. We will be hosting gatherings to build, connect and educate the creator community on social impact opportunities and resources - from small exclusive dinners to major events and retreats. You will work with and manage event teams and world class convening partners to plan out an events strategy that brings this community together with the experts that are also changing the world.

This is a senior seat with real authority, real exposure - and best of all - real impact. You’ll be in front of creators, facilitators, funders and major partners, and what you build becomes the thing we scale — from one Los Angeles cohort to a national ecosystem for creator-led social impact… and beyond.

What You’ll Do

Own the program and its evolution

  • Own execution of the programming and events roadmap: cohorts, workshops, retreats, convenings and signature moments — what we run, when, for whom, and what each one is actually for
  • Partner with our program design team to shape and sharpen curriculum, then hold the line on quality as it scales; bring a real point of view on what changes after every cohort and why
  • Partner with events producers to oversee execution and ensure events are deeply meaningful for our creator community
  • Define what good looks like and prove it — pre/post measurement, creator outcomes, project quality — so decisions come from evidence and funders see the case, not just the highlight reel

Build the bench and the ecosystem

  • Source, evaluate and onboard the facilitators, impact coaches and producers who deliver the work; set the rubric they’re selected against and the quality bar they’re held to
  • Shape creator selection alongside leadership — criteria, pipeline, cohort composition — and understand that who’s in the room is a program design decision, not an admin one
  • Cultivate the venue, vendor and partner relationships that make our rooms feel like nowhere else

Deliver in the room

  • Own end-to-end production of program days and events: run-of-show, venue, contracts, catering, AV, room sets, travel, materials — and the hosting that makes creators and funders feel taken care of
  • Own program budgets, timelines and vendor negotiations; know where to spend for effect and where a beautiful idea isn’t worth the money
  • Design and run the funder-facing moments — cohort readouts, private dinners, industry activations — where our work gets seen and our next partnerships start

Build the operating system

  • Turn what we learn into repeatable infrastructure: playbooks, budget models, facilitator guides, vendor bench and program templates, so cohort three is stronger and easier than cohort one

What We’re Looking For

  • You’ve owned programs, not just executed them — cohort programs, accelerators, fellowships, festivals, summits or a programming slate where you set the direction and were accountable for whether it worked
  • Ability to expertly navigate the creator economy — you understand how creators build audiences, manage their time, and decide what’s worth showing up for. You handle all creator interactions with respect for their time and the utmost discretion.
  • Strategic and hands‑on in the same week: you can argue the shape of the model on Monday and be building the run-of-show on Thursday, and you don’t consider the second part beneath you
  • Strong judgment and the ability to operate independently; you figure things out, then get them done, and know when to surface tough calls for feedback.
  • Command of budgets, contracts and vendors, and the instinct for where money buys real effect
  • Credible in a room with creators, facilitators and funders alike — a natural host and a clear, warm communicator, in writing, in conversation, and everywhere in between
  • Comfortable building where the answers don’t exist yet, and willing to be wrong out loud on the way to getting it right
  • Genuine alignment with our mission; you care about helping creators succeed - and in changing the world - not just about the content space broadly

Nice to Have

  • Personal experience as a creator or working directly with creators (management, partnerships, brand side, etc.)
  • Experience designing or running accelerators, fellowships or cohort-based learning
  • Familiarity with nonprofit operations or mission-driven organizations, and comfort building the case in front of funders
  • Experience at an early-stage organization or startup, where you built the function rather than inherited it
  • An existing bench of venues, vendors, facilitators and producers in Los Angeles

Details

This is an independent contractor engagement, not an employee position. The initial term is nine months, scoped to a defined set of deliverables — with a mutual option to renew at the end of the term. Compensation is targeted to $9–13K/month against those deliverables. The contractor sets their own schedule and working methods, other than the in-person presence that program days and events themselves require. We contract with consultancies and production companies as well as with individuals operating through their own business entity. Los Angeles-based preferred. Travel to major creator economy events and Create on Purpose convenings.
