Senior Programmer / Analyst IIAs a Senior Programmer / Analyst II, you will design, develop, and maintain data-driven web applications using PHP and modern front-end technologies. This role involves full-stack development, working with large relational databases, containerized development environments, and cloud-based infrastructure. You will participate in the complete software lifecycle, from development and testing through deployment and ongoing production support.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, test, and deploy PHP-based web applicationsBuild and maintain front-end interfaces using JavaScript, HTML, and CSSWork with relational databases (MariaDB) to query, optimize, and manage large data setsWrite and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database schemasDevelop and maintain applications using PHP frameworks (Phalcon preferred; Laravel or similar frameworks acceptable)Use Git for version control and collaborate within a team-based workflowWork in Docker-based development environmentsDeploy and support applications hosted in AWSPerform unit and functional testing and support production releasesProvide ongoing application support by troubleshooting and resolving issuesAccess and maintain Linux servers (RHEL 9) via SSH as neededRequired QualificationsProven experience developing applications in PHP at an intermediate or advanced levelStrong experience with PHP frameworks (Phalcon, Laravel, or comparable frameworks)Solid understanding of front-end web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX)Strong experience working with relational databases, preferably MariaDBExperience using Git for source controlFamiliarity with Linux-based systems and command-line toolsAbility to follow best practices for clean code, security, and maintainabilityBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)Ability to obtain or currently hold a Public Trust clearancePreferred Skills & ExperienceExperience deploying and supporting applications in AWS environmentsFamiliarity with Docker for local development and deployment workflowsExperience working on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 9) systemsObject-oriented PHP development experienceStrong understanding of PHP execution and request lifecycleAdvanced database skills, including query optimization and indexingFamiliarity with jQuery and related libraries (DataTables, etc..)Experience implementing authentication and authorization across systemsUnderstanding of web application security vulnerabilities and mitigation strategiesKnowledge of accessibility standards and compliance requirementsExperience designing scalable application architecturesVolanno is a certified woman-owned small business headquartered in Washington, DC.
