Senior Program Officer, Sub-Saharan Africa

To implement regional funding programs for Wikimedian communities in Sub-Saharan Africa, the full-time Senior Program Officer will manage grantmaking strategies, build community relationships, and evaluate funding impacts while working remotely from a country within the region. Key responsibilities Implement and manage the Community Resources grantmaking strategy, aligning with regional needs and opportunities Build and develop regional funding committees to facilitate participatory decision-making in grant allocations Establish and maintain trust-based relationships with communities, grantees, and applicants, acting as the primary liaison Required qualifications Solid knowledge of trust-based philanthropy or community-based grantmaking Experience in grantmaking, particularly in an international context Strong strategic and analytical skills with proven project management experience Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and diversity Proven English proficiency in written and spoken communication
