Senior Program CoordinatorTo perform advanced education abroad advising, program administration, development, and coordination. Will be responsible for providing the ongoing training of academic advisors about curriculum integration and international opportunities. Advances the awareness and understanding of education abroad opportunities through collaboration with departments and international partners to provide innovative, academically relevant programs and exceptional student services within the college infrastructure. Collaborates with the college or school international education committees at the direction of Education Abroad leadership.ResponsibilitiesRecruit, advise, select, and prepare students for education abroad opportunities. Create advising tools to increase the transparency of program options. Design and manage information sessions, pre-departure orientations, returnee sessions, and promotional events individually or as part of a team. Share knowledge from work in a particular academic, geographical region, or specialized area with the larger Education Abroad team with the goal of elevating collective knowledge. Liaise with Texas Global's Global Risk and Safety as necessary and appropriate for students' health and safety preparation and emergency management.Lead and manage a portfolio of affiliated and exchange programs with advanced knowledge of additional faculty-led, internship/experiential programs. Collaborate with exchange partners to advise students on their experience abroad, draft student budgets, and review exchange partner program applications. Share responsibility for advising and recruiting across all program types. Work directly with colleges and schools to integrate education abroad into academic degree plans. Develop a strong understanding of the academic structure of degree plans and CSU goals related to internationalization, identify opportunities for academic collaboration, and conduct activities that support mutual goals. Play an active role in developing and expanding curriculum integration. Identify, propose, and develop new programs based on the needs of students and/or academic partners on campus. Manage and evaluate existing education abroad programs in various countries as assigned. Actively contribute to reviews of reciprocal exchange and academic affiliation programs to ensure high quality options for students. Participate in and provide feedback throughout proposal cycles, including Request for Proposals (RFP) processes, bid solicitations, and program reviews.Ensure the completion of administrative processes associated with the functions above, either directly or by supervising student workers. Participate in Education Abroad staff meetings, special projects, and committees, including office-wide strategic planning and policy development. Conduct required administration activities including credit processing, partner development, admissions to education abroad programs, orientation, visitor schedules, and email correspondence.Responsible for providing ongoing training and resources to CSU colleagues regarding opportunities for education abroad. Integrate with the college's academic advising team; attend weekly meetings as applicable, maintain constant communication, and participate in events as requested. Build and maintain professional relationships with key faculty. Conduct faculty engagement sessions or workshops. Meet regularly with faculty members to identify areas for collaboration and mutual interest.Contribute to the development and implementation of a marketing and outreach plan for the assigned academic and/or specialized area in conjunction with the team. Create and maintain resources for students, faculty, and academic advisors across print, web, and social media channels. Collaborate with college and school leadership, EA leadership, and Texas Global Marketing and Communications to determine effective and efficient means of communication. Assist with marketing and outreach strategy and support the development of outreach materials.Responsible for supporting the onboarding and training of program coordinators. Assist with cross-training team members related to program, region, or other specialized expertise.Required QualificationsDemonstration in application materials and interview of the following competencies, typically acquired through a Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience or a Master's degree and three years of relevant experience: Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills; results-oriented; strong organizational abilities; the ability to manage multiple priorities and effectively prioritize; a customer focus which includes students, faculty, staff, and external partners; composure in stressful situations; strong interpersonal and communication skills; and ability to maintain professional demeanor in all activities and interactions. Responsible level of experience developing or administering international programs.
Experience working with college students or similar populations. Knowledge of student health, safety, and security issues in education abroad programs.
Experience working directly with academic advisors, faculty, and senior administrative officials. Ability to work at a high level with minimal supervision. Significant experience living, studying, or working abroad. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.Preferred QualificationsExperience working in international education at The University of Texas at Austin. Demonstrated collaboration within and across work groups. Demonstrated creative and relevant marketing knowledge. Proficiency in a foreign language.
