- Support the client in the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs
- Shape technology decisions impacting millions of Veterans through product thinking, prioritization, and delivery expertise
- Collaborate with service designers, data scientists, and engineers to understand customer and user problems
- Define MVPs and mature solution iterations
- Lead implementation efforts
- Develop adoption and change management plans
- Dedicate 85% of time to billable contract work and 15% to growing MO’s product practice, contributing to culture, and supporting business development
- Partner with stakeholders to translate vision into reality through prioritization, roadmapping, and requirements development
- Lead cross-functional designers, data scientists, and engineers to deliver iteratively and incrementally
- Balance business, user, and technical needs to deliver meaningful outcomes
- Identify and manage risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs; communicate with stakeholders and leadership
- Set outcomes-driven success metrics and measure impact
- Facilitate product strategy methods and agile ceremonies
- Enable continuous feedback using qualitative and quantitative data
- Communicate with clients to maintain alignment on team priorities
- Engage government ecosystem stakeholders to solve delivery issues
- Leverage AI tools for discovery, documentation, experimentation, analysis, communication, and decision-making
- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive work and improve team efficiency through responsible AI use
Requirements
- 3–8+ years of product management experience in a relevant industry, such as software development, government technology, or civic technology
- Strong product thinking skills
- Client relationship management and customer success skills
- Design thinking and lean product thinking experience, including research, workshop facilitation, and client decision-making
- Outcome-oriented approach backed by measurable, data-driven results
- Experience aligning cross-functional teams and stakeholders around goals
- Experience translating business requirements and user research findings into epics and user stories
- Experience working in cross-functional teams using agile methodologies
- Ability to set expectations, remove blockers, and hold teams accountable to contractual and client expectations
- Experience with accessibility and human-centered design
- Ability to manage a team through change
- Experience working with the federal government, with VA experience preferred
- Experience with Drupal CMS and Drupal best practices preferred
- Familiarity with service design-informed research approaches preferred
