Senior Process Engineer

A growing engineering consultancy specializing in municipal water and wastewater infrastructure is seeking an experienced Senior Wastewater Process Engineer to join its team. This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of treatment process design projects from concept through construction while working alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead wastewater treatment projects through planning, design, and delivery phases
• Independently develop treatment process designs and technical specifications
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, and design teams to define project scopes and technical solutions
• Perform engineering calculations related to biological treatment systems, process piping networks, and pumping systems
• Support proposal development and technical planning activities
• Provide technical oversight, quality reviews, and mentorship to junior engineering staff
• Coordinate drawing production, review design packages, and provide technical guidance throughout project execution
• Manage competing project schedules across both design and construction-related activities
• Develop innovative treatment concepts and process improvements for municipal wastewater facilities

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Additional certifications such as PMP or DBIA are advantageous

Required Skills

• Proven experience in municipal wastewater treatment design
• Strong background producing engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documentation
• Exposure to construction administration, project delivery, and industrial wastewater projects is beneficial
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, construction documents, and technical specifications
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced project environment

Preferred Skills

• Additional certifications such as PMP or DBIA are advantageous
