Job Title: Senior Process Engineer
Reporting To: Manager Sr., Elect Engineering
Work Schedule: Hybrid – Buffalo, NY
Moog Commercial Aircraft Group is looking for an Sr. Manufacturing / Process Engineer. This position is located at our Commercial Facility in East Aurora, NY.

Responsibilities

  • Support all phases of the product life cycle including: new product development, new product introduction (NPI), product transfer and product delivery.
  • Provides support for Commercial Aircraft production programs both at the Design Center (DC), Production Center (PC) and Contract Manufacturer.
  • Evaluate, request, and implement equipment to meet production requirements.
  • Assure and maintain design integrity, producibility and quality in production products.
  • Provide process engineering support as required to other Moog departments and Contract Manufacturers to maintain and improve quality, schedule, and cost objectives.
  • Provide information regarding status of technical, quality, schedule, or cost impacts to all affected operating groups.
  • Coordinate with Moog Program Management, Sales, and Purchasing to provide technical communications to customers and suppliers.
  • Organize, coordinate, and expedite Moog material and personnel resources for analysis and solution of production problems.
  • Prepare/conduct technical and training presentations for Moog management, employees, customers, and suppliers.
  • Travel (10-15%) both domestically and internationally to work with contract manufacturers.
  • Track key company metrics including, but not limited to, first pass yield (FPY), and product cost objectives (PCAS) to maintain and improve company performance and goals.
  • These metrics may be used to support the goals of other departments.
  • Identify areas for producibility and quality improvements in production assembly/test and product design.
  • Initiate these changes and plan for schedule impacts.
  • Assuring and maintaining product integrity, and quality in production products.
  • The Senior Product engineer does this by collaborating with other Moog resources to resolve production problems, performing Material Review Board (MRB) analyses, and assisting in evaluation for possible notice of escape (NOE) to customers.

Ideal Candidate Experience

  • The Ideal candidate will have Circuit card Experience in the following areas: PCB, CCA, plated through-hole, multi-layer boards, flexible boards, cable assemblies, Rework, repair of PCB’s and overall knowledge of a circuit card assembly process.
  • Knowledge of Electronics Workmanship Standards (IPC, J-STD-001) would be preferred.
  • Become Subject Matter Expert (SME) on product, processes, industry standards, and equipment as necessary.

Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or comparable field of technology, + 5 years relevant technical experience.
  • A collaborative perspective, with ability to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Practical hands‑on experience with electromechanical hardware and tools.
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills General knowledge in areas of Root Cause / Corrective Action, LEAN, Project Planning, APQP, Facility and Product line layout, set up and transfer and Data Acquisition and Analysis.
  • This position requires access to US Export Controlled Information.
  • Proven ability to read, interpret, and implement part print requirements into a production processes and requirements.

Salary Range Transparency: Buffalo, NY $100,000.00–$140,000.00 Annually
