Responsibilities
Lead software engineering activities throughout the software lifecycle, including requirements analysis, architecture, design, development, integration, testing, deployment, modernization, sustainment, and related engineering efforts.
Develop, implement, and enhance software solutions, technologies, products, systems, processes, standards, and capabilities across a variety of mission areas.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, customers, stakeholders, vendors, and engineering disciplines to define requirements, solve technical challenges, and deliver mission‑critical capabilities.
Apply expert technical knowledge and domain expertise to solve highly complex challenges and deliver innovative software solutions that support customer and business objectives.
Support the development of scalable, maintainable, reusable, and secure software solutions that meet program, customer, and operational requirements.
Drive system integration, verification, validation, troubleshooting, testing, deployment, and operational support activities to ensure high‑quality software performance, functionality, and reliability.
Influence technical direction, engineering strategies, software architectures, and program outcomes through deep software engineering expertise.
Communicate technical concepts, recommendations, risks, and program status to audiences ranging from engineering teams to customers and executive leadership.
Lead significant technical efforts, initiatives, and projects while serving as a subject matter expert and technical authority within the discipline.
Requirements
Experience developing software applications, systems, or solutions using programming languages such as C/C++, Java, or similar languages.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.
U.S. citizenship, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Typically requires a STEM degree and minimum 10 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field with a minimum of 7 years of experience.
Active and transferable Secret or Top Secret U.S. government issued security clearance.
Experience developing, integrating, testing, deploying, sustaining, and supporting software‑based products, systems, platforms, and capabilities.
Experience with Linux, embedded software, real‑time operating systems, DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, Agile development methodologies (Scrum, SAFe), automated testing frameworks, and related software development environments.
Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, secure software development practices, software assurance methodologies, requirements analysis and decomposition, systems integration, verification and validation, and related engineering disciplines.
Experience with Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), UML, SysML, software architecture and design, requirements‑driven development methodologies, and related systems engineering practices.
Experience supporting mission‑critical, safety‑critical, and regulated software development environments (DO‑178 or similar standards).
U.S. government issued security clearance, Top Secret clearance, Secret clearance.
