Job Overview
Onsite Software Engineer – Avionics Simulation at RTX (Collins Aerospace) located in Cedar Rapids, IA. This role supports the development and testing of avionics sensor simulations for Collins Avionics products and requires a U.S. Person.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test applications to simulate the behavior of avionics sensors.
- Aid the development team in debugging laboratory issues to determine root cause and propose solutions.
- Effectively interact and network with teammates, management, and customers.
- Support the Program Lead(s) with budget and schedule data for the CSE work on a given program to help ensure the successful completion of a Collins Avionics program.
- Work with a team of dedicated engineers to help shape the future of the avionics simulation platform.
- Travel 5-10% as needed.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a STEM degree and minimum 10 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree and minimum 7 years of experience.
- Experience with C/C++ programming languages.
- Experience with Python scripting.
- Experience with Agile Development Framework (Scrum, Sprints, etc.)
Qualifications We Prefer
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Experience with GUI design/implementation.
- Experience with C# programming language.
- Familiarity with migrating an application between OS and HW architectures.
- Earned Value Management experience.
