Position Summary
Senior Principal Reliability Engineer - Tucson, AZ. This role supports Life Cycle Engineering to ensure products are safe, reliable, maintainable, and delivered on time. The engineer develops and implements reliability strategy across development, production, and sustainment phases, leads a diverse team, interfaces with program leadership and customers, and mentors engineers.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement reliability strategy across multiple product phases.
* Lead and oversee an engineering team across varying experience levels and sub‑disciplines.
* Lead analysis efforts supporting system design for product reliability, maintainability, and failure analysis/reporting.
* Serve as SME in reliability disciplines including FMECA, predictions, derating, and ESS optimization.
* Identify gaps in expertise, coach reliability engineers, and collaborate with functional leadership on development.
* Review technical documentation for accuracy and compliance with existing standards.
Required Qualifications
* Typically requires a STEM degree and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
* Experience with reliability requirements, analyses, and/or test methodology development.
* Ability to obtain Interim Secret U.S. government‑issued security clearance prior to start date; U.S. citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with FMECA, reliability predictions, ESS, and derating.
* Experience leading engineering teams.
* Customer focus and collaboration skills.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills; knowledge of MS Office tools and preparation of briefing materials.
* Ability to review technical documentation for accuracy, identify concerns, suggest solutions, and follow through to closure.
Benefits and Compensation
Salary range: 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. Eligible for medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term and long‑term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Bonus and incentive programs may apply. Benefits are dependent on business unit and collective‑bargaining agreements.
