Infinity Miles is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design, packaging, thermal integration, and product development of our commercial SST platform. This role spans concept development through prototype validation, manufacturing release, and commercial deployment.

Position Overview

The Senior/Principal Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the design, analysis, integration, and validation of mechanical systems supporting high‑power medium‑voltage equipment. This role spans concept development through prototype validation, manufacturing release, and commercial deployment. You will work closely with power electronics, magnetics, controls, manufacturing, and test engineering teams to develop robust, scalable, and manufacturable products for demanding industrial and utility applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of experience developing power electronics, industrial equipment, energy systems, EV charging equipment, renewable energy products, or similar electromechanical systems
  • Strong proficiency with SolidWorks, Creo, NX, CATIA, or equivalent CAD software
  • Experience with sheet metal design, welded structures, machined components, castings, and industrial enclosures
  • Proficiency with GD&T, tolerance analysis, and DFM/DFA methodologies
  • Experience with thermal management systems including forced‑air and liquid cooling solutions
  • Familiarity with FEA and CFD tools such as ANSYS Mechanical, Fluent, SolidWorks Simulation, or equivalent
  • Knowledge of UL, IEC, IEEE, and industrial equipment standards

Responsibilities

  • Develop mechanical architectures for medium‑voltage power conversion systems and Solid‑State Transformer platforms
  • Design electrical enclosures, cabinets, module structures, busbars, mounting systems, and integrated assemblies
  • Create detailed 3D CAD models and production drawings
  • Perform structural, thermal, vibration, and fatigue analyses to ensure product reliability
  • Design and integrate cooling systems including air‑cooled and liquid‑cooled architectures
  • Lead prototype development, fabrication, assembly, and mechanical validation activities
  • Develop assembly procedures and manufacturing instructions to support scalable production
  • Support supplier engagement, component sourcing, tooling development, and DFM/DFA activities

Help commercialize one of the industry's most advanced Solid‑State Transformer platforms while working alongside experienced innovators in power electronics, controls, magnetics, and energy systems.
