Senior Principal Machine Learning Engineer

As the technical lead for Search Serving, the full-time Senior Principal Machine Learning Engineer will design and build high-quality search systems, set the long-term architecture for online retrieval and ML inference, and establish strong production practices, all while working remotely or in various office locations. Key responsibilities Design and implement agentic search systems focusing on performance metrics like tail latency and throughput Set the technical roadmap for online retrieval and ML capabilities, ensuring rigorous evaluation and experimentation Lead initiatives to enhance team and platform maturity, mentoring senior engineers and aligning technical direction across teams Required qualifications 10+ years of experience in designing and operating large-scale, low-latency search or retrieval systems Deep expertise in ML systems, including production inference and model optimization Strong background in distributed systems, focusing on performance, concurrency, and cost efficiency Practical experience in information retrieval and applied machine learning techniques Proven track record of setting technical direction and delivering results across multiple teams
