Job Description
- Lead preconstruction efforts from conceptual budgeting through project turnover to operations
- Prepare conceptual estimates, detailed cost estimates, and project budgets
- Coordinate design development and value engineering activities
- Develop pricing strategies and competitive project proposals
- Participate in client presentations, interviews, and project pursuit meetings
- Build and maintain relationships with owners, architects, consultants, and industry partners
- Support business development initiatives and help secure new work
- Analyze drawings, specifications, schedules, and project risks
- Coordinate subcontractor and vendor pricing efforts
- Work closely with project management and operations teams during project handoff
- Provide market intelligence, cost trends, and strategic planning recommendations
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients throughout the preconstruction process
The Successful Applicant
- 5-10 years of preconstruction experience
- Proven success managing preconstruction efforts on commercial construction projects
- Experience helping win work through client interaction and relationship development
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Comfortable participating in client meetings and project interviews
- Experience preparing budgets and conceptual estimates for projects ranging from approximately $10M-$50M+
- Strong understanding of construction means, methods, scheduling, and pricing
- Ability to collaborate effectively with operations, estimating, and business development teams
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
