Own inverter mechanical parts from concept through production including part design and release
Develop manufacturing processes including running DOEs and executing process validation
Design and execute physical tests in a lab environment, including designing fixtures / test equipment
Plan, coordinate, and execute test campaigns for design verification of inverter sub-components and the inverter system
Optimize costs from design to manufacturing and create robust designs for automotive applications
Own mechanical parts for inverters, driving optimization for durability, efficiency, and performance
Domestic and International Travel Required up to 20%.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field
5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation
5 years of experience with each of the following skill is required: Designing mechanical parts and assemblies using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software
3 years of experience with each of the following skills is required: Analyzing the design of mechanical systems using Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) tools including Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
2 years of experience with each of the following skills is required: Analyzing production inspection data for mechanical and electrical components using statistical tools, Minitab and Excel
Transition power electronic device designs to production at high volumes
Work with manufacturing vendors to produce built-to-print mechanical components from concept through high volume production
Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) using established methodologies to identify the cause of failure in mechanical and electrical systems
Perform Design of Experiments (DOE) to optimize mechanical assemblies and processes.
