Senior Plant Operations Supervisor

Location: Western Ohio

Compensation: $75,000–$90,000+ base salary, plus annual bonus

Relocation assistance may be available for the right candidate

Our client, an established and growing agricultural manufacturing and production organization, is seeking a Senior Plant Operations Supervisor to help lead day-to-day operations at one of its Ohio production facilities.

This is an excellent opportunity for a strong, hands-on operations leader who enjoys being on the floor, developing employees, improving processes, and taking ownership of a production environment. The company is much more interested in finding a proven leader with the right attitude, work ethic, and ability to connect with an hourly workforce.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the site leader, this individual will have responsibility for daily plant operations including production, warehousing, packaging, receiving, storage, maintenance coordination, safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

The operation can grow to approximately 15–20 employees during peak production season, with a combination of full-time, temporary, and seasonal employees.

This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership position. The successful candidate will spend significant time on the plant floor working alongside the team rather than managing exclusively from an office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide daily leadership and supervision for plant and warehouse employees
  • Hire, train, develop, and supervise temporary and seasonal employees
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company safety programs
  • Coordinate production, packaging, warehousing, receiving, and shipping activities
  • Develop and communicate production and packaging schedules
  • Ensure customer quality and production requirements are consistently met
  • Support and maintain quality management processes
  • Ensure preventive maintenance programs and schedules are followed
  • Maintain appropriate inventories of critical maintenance parts and supplies
  • Identify opportunities to reduce downtime and improve productivity, safety, quality, and efficiency
  • Ensure accurate completion of production and processing documentation
  • Partner closely with site leadership and other operational functions
  • Help build a positive, team-oriented culture throughout the facility

What We're Looking For

We are looking for a hands-on, servant-style leader who earns credibility with employees and is comfortable leading from the floor.

Ideal candidates will have:

  • 4+ years of experience in manufacturing, production, distribution, warehouse, agricultural, or similar operations
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience in an hourly workforce environment
  • Strong people leadership and team-building skills
  • Experience with safety, quality, production, maintenance, or continuous improvement
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, seasonal production environment
  • Solid computer skills
  • A stable work history and demonstrated progression in responsibility

A four-year degree is not required, and previous agriculture or seed-production experience is a plus but not necessary.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

This organization has a strong history of promoting from within and places significant emphasis on culture, employee development, safety, and long-term retention.

The company offers a competitive benefits package including medical, dental and vision coverage, PTO, paid holidays, life and disability insurance, a 401(k) with company match, profit sharing, and an annual company bonus program.

For an experienced supervisor or operations leader looking for increased responsibility and an opportunity to take the next step in their career, this position offers significant visibility and the chance to make a direct impact on the performance and culture of the facility.
