Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate directly with the photographer and lead Photoshop specialist to develop the final visual treatment of selected photographs.
• Execute sophisticated refinements to light, shadow, contrast, color, dimensional depth, and atmosphere.
• Use advanced luminosity masking, channel-based selections, precision masking, curves, selective color, dodge and burn, and exposure blending when appropriate.
• Create controlled, visually compelling enhancements while preserving the original composition, photographic details, and natural textures.
• Work with extremely high-resolution photographic files, including medium-format and panoramic imagery.
• Participate in creative reviews, interpret detailed artistic direction, and execute precise revisions.
• Maintain organized, layered, non-destructive Photoshop files and high production standards.
• Support final image preparation and quality control for premium, large-format fine-art printing.
• Ensure consistency with established photographic aesthetic and artistic vision.
Required Qualifications
• Advanced to expert-level proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, with substantial professional high-end photographic retouching experience.
• An outstanding portfolio demonstrating sophisticated image enhancement, not simply general graphic design.
• Expert knowledge of photographic lighting, color theory, contrast, tonal separation, and composition.
• Proficiency with precision selections, masks, adjustment layers, color grading, and non-destructive workflows.
• Excellent artistic judgment: the ability to create dramatic visual impact with precision and restraint.
• Experience collaborating with photographers, creative directors, or senior imaging professionals.
• Exceptional attention to detail, including image quality at very large print sizes.
• Strong communication, adaptability, and responsiveness to detailed creative feedback.
Highly Desirable Experience
• Fine-art landscape, nature, wildlife, or architectural photography retouching.
• Advanced RAW processing and multi-exposure blending.
• Color-managed workflows, soft proofing, and large-format fine-art printing.
• Extremely high-resolution medium-format digital photography.
• Sophisticated lighting and atmospheric refinement achieved through photographic adjustments rather than generative image creation.
