Senior Pharmacy Technician

This position supports Pharmacist(s) in a pharmacy in the overall day to day direction of pharmacy operations.

Minimal qualifications include:

  • Graduate of an accredited Pharmacy Program or High School Diploma/GED and Certificate from an employer sponsored Pharmacy program.
  • Florida Board of Pharmacy Registration
  • Active Pharmacy Technician Licensure (National) preferred
  • Active BLS
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a pharmacy
  • Computer literacy; basic understanding of Microsoft Suite
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Understanding of use of pharmacy equipment

Responsibilities and performance expectations include, but are not limited to:

  • Be familiar with CFHC's program philosophies, goals, and objectives.
  • Be cognizant of and comply with all CFHC's policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
  • Understand the requirements of CFHC's Exposure Control Plan.
  • Assure compliance with this plan by support staff assigned to assist you.
  • Adheres to CFHC quality policies and participates actively in quality improvement process activities.
  • Follows safety and OSHA requirements.
  • Responsible and accountable for registering all related sales on assigned cash register, collects and handles cash as required.
  • Oversee accuracy of all tills and assist team members with reconciling discrepancies in the daily deposit.
  • Handles telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist, including those to physicians.
  • Processes (corrects and resubmits) manual claims for third party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner, and performs other clerical duties, as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager.
  • Assist with third party audits and inspections as required by regulatory bodies and contracted partners.
  • Leads Pharmacy Department inventory management activities, such as, ordering, unpacking, checking and storing shipment of pharmaceuticals.
  • Addresses warehouse overages (merchandise received, but not billed), shortages (merchandise billed, but not received), order errors or damaged goods involving prescription drugs.
  • Assists and supports Pharmacists in analyzing and seeking to improve pharmacy finance, customer service, inventory, and performance metrics.
  • Working with CFHC and referral providers and clinical staff to establish and maintain positive relationships.
  • Mix pharmaceutical preparations, fill bottles with prescribed tablets, and type labels for bottles.
  • Receives and stores incoming supplies.
  • Files invoices and hard copy prescriptions.
  • Assists with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring the Pharmacy Department is stocked with adequate supplies, clean, neat and orderly in condition and appearance.
  • Facilitate day to day pharmacy operations and guide pharmacy technicians in ensuring efficiency in workflow.
  • Assist with training new team members.
  • Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
  • Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPPA guidelines.
  • Ability to analyze excel reports.
  • Report as needed to supervising personnel any pertinent information or situations that impact on patient care or CFHC liability.
  • Attend and participate in mandatory CFHC meetings (Center Specific quarterly meetings, Corporate meetings, and other meetings).
  • Enhances professional growth and development by attending in-service meetings and continuing education programs.
  • Maintain neat and professional appearance at all times.
  • Carry out any other activities deemed appropriate by the supervising staff.

  • Requires 80% or more time spent standing/walking
  • Independently mobile
  • Working under tight deadlines
  • Ability to lift weight equivalent to that required when repositioning equipment and lifting supplies

  • Environmentally exposed to a variety of contagious diseases and other patient related conditions
