You'll partner with Product Management, Applications and Development Engineering, Manufacturing, and our customers to ensure new products hit performance, reliability, and cost targets. This is a senior, independent role for an engineer who can define test strategy, lead investigations, and mentor others.What You'll DoLead optical and mechanical testing programs for new product development and qualification, defining technical approach and test strategy with minimal supervisionTranslate customer and internal requirements into structured testing plans; direct and review technician testing activitiesAnalyze test data using statistical methods and present clear technical conclusions to stakeholdersLead red-flag and predictive testing to assess product performance and qualification riskConduct failure analysis to determine root cause and recommend corrective actions; collaborate with design engineers through design iterationsBalance performance, cost, and schedule through cross-functional coordination; maintain project schedules and stakeholder updatesPrepare technical reports and documentation for internal teams and external customersMentor engineers and technicians; contribute to conference papers, publications, and patents as opportunities ariseRequired Skills & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline (Mechanical, Materials, or Chemical Engineering preferred)5+ years of experience in fiber optic or telecommunications systems, including testing and developmentProven ability to independently lead technical projects from planning through executionExperience analyzing test data, applying statistical methods, and determining next development stepsStrong verbal, written, and presentation skills; ability to convey complex technical concepts to varied audiencesProven track record working effectively across cross-functional engineering and business teamsProficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPointNice to HaveWorking knowledge of fiber optic connectors, ferrules, assemblies, and optical test methodsHands-on experience with advanced metrology or vision measurement systems, optical test equipment, or environmental chambersExperience mentoring junior engineers or technical staffTechnical publication, conference presentation, or patent contribution experienceWhat We OfferCompetitive base salary with performance-based bonus potential4 weeks of PTO, plus holidays and employee recognition programsHealth, dental, and vision plans401(k) retirement savings plan with employer matchCollaborative, team-based culture that fuels innovationCommunity engagement and STEM outreach opportunitiesUS Conec will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States.
