About the Role
Senior Manager of Fulfillment Center Operations at ShipMonk will lead high‑performing teams to scale operations and ensure the safety, efficiency, and profitability of fulfillment centers across 12+ owned facilities in the US, Canada, the U.K., and Europe.
What You’ll Do
- Establish operational procedures for verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and maintaining current warehouse inventory.
- Ensure warehouse and equipment are physically maintained, and submit work orders for repairs and requisitions for replacement equipment.
- Coordinate warehouse activities with customer service, sales, and other functional areas.
- Maintain a safe operation meeting company standards for sanitation, maintenance, security, and housekeeping.
- Effectively manage the budget and P&L of the operation.
- Ensure operational excellence in all warehouse areas, equipment, and systems.
- Collaborate with others to maintain proper layout of warehouse and product placement.
- Monitor and ensure facility KPIs are met in a timely and cost‑effective manner, supporting profitability and productivity.
- Maintain accurate timekeeping for direct reports and reporting teams.
- Lead cultural change within facilities whenever necessary.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Participate in interviewing, hiring, training, and performance appraisal of supervisory and hourly staff to build a strong company culture.
- Address complaints and resolve problems.
- Oversee warehouse sanitation in the assigned department, identifying failures and taking corrective actions.
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree from a 4‑year college/university or equivalent experience in Supply Chain Operations, Fulfillment Center Operations, or Distribution Center Operations.
- A minimum of 6 to 8 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and training.
- Experience with warehouse management systems.
- Experience with labor management systems and productivity initiatives.
- Lean Six Sigma certification is an advantage.
- Proficiency with enterprise technology systems such as Advanced Excel, Outlook/Gmail, project management software, WMS, and process workflow creation.
- Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and customers.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and comfort handling non‑standardized situations.
- Ability to interpret written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule instructions.
- Experience leading teams of 40+ employees, building leadership layers, and managing performance of direct reports.
