- Own day-to-day intercontinental inbound network execution across ocean, air, small parcel, and heavy-haul modes for the U.S. and Canada
- Lead and develop the Intercontinental Operations material logistics team and logistics service company partners
- Serve as the primary escalation point for critical intercontinental shipments and coordinate recovery plans
- Oversee premium transportation and claims interfaces for intercontinental, domestic, and rail moves
- Use logistics tools and dashboards to monitor network health, identify risks, and drive corrective actions
- Ensure standard processes and work instructions are followed and continuously improved
- Improve communication practices with origin and destination control towers
- Partner with Logistics Planning, Purchasing, Vehicle Command Center, and SCW/PFEP teams on capacity, transit times, spot-buys, dwell, and continuous improvement
- Support education and communication through playbooks, network updates, training tools, and reference documents
- Drive safety, compliance, and quality, including customs and regulatory adherence
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Engineering, or related field, or relevant equivalent experience in lieu of degree
- 5+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or material management
- Direct exposure to international or intercontinental transportation, including ocean and air
- Experience leading teams and/or managing third-party logistics providers in an operations, command center, or escalation-driven environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interpret transit times, dwell, ETA/PDT, and days-on-hand data
- Ability to assess risk and develop recovery plans under time pressure
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to lead cross-functional discussions and provide executive-ready updates
- Ability to manage multiple critical issues and prioritize in a fast-paced, escalation-heavy environment, including after-hours events
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams
- Ability to learn GM logistics systems and tools, including MGO, Power BI dashboards, GPFA/PTA, and track-and-trace tools
- Must not require GM immigration sponsorship now or in the future
- Must not require H-1B, OPT, STEM OPT, CPT, TN, J-1, or other immigration support from GM
