Senior Operations Manager | Aerospace & Precision Manufacturing
About the Opportunity
We're partnering with an established aerospace manufacturer seeking a Senior Operations Manager to lead a complex precision manufacturing operation. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands manufacturing operations and the realities of a machining environment and can drive performance across people, processes, capacity, and production.
What You'll Do
- Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations across machining, assembly, and related production areas
- Lead and develop supervisors, managers, and production teams while driving accountability at all levels
- Drive improvements in throughput, on-time delivery, labor efficiency, quality, and cost
- Oversee production priorities, capacity, labor planning, scheduling, and workflow across multiple manufacturing areas
- Establish and manage operational KPIs and reporting to improve visibility and decision-making
- Partner with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Planning, and CNC Machining to resolve production challenges
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on bottleneck reduction, machine utilization, workflow, and productivity
- Support capital planning, resource allocation, and longer-term operational strategy
What You Bring
- 5+ years of progressive leadership experience within manufacturing operations
- Strong understanding of machining operations, including CNC machining, machine utilization, capacity, scheduling, tooling, and production workflow
- Hands-on understanding of ERP/MRP systems and their use in production planning, scheduling, inventory, capacity, and manufacturing execution
- Experience leading supervisors/managers and sizable manufacturing teams
- Proven track record improving throughput, delivery, productivity, efficiency, or cost
- Strong understanding of manufacturing KPIs and data-driven operational management
- Experience within complex, high-mix manufacturing environments
- Aerospace manufacturing experience strongly preferred; medical device, automotive, and other complex manufacturing backgrounds will be considered
- Lean / Continuous Improvement experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Business, or related field preferred
