Senior Operations EngineerAs a Senior Operations Engineer at Impulse, you will be responsible for supporting manufacturing operations to streamline processes, improve data collection, own factory layouts, and support business initiatives. This is a technical role in a development-heavy environment, requiring execution on aggressive timelines and rapid iterations.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and own factory layouts for new and existing facilities, helping bring together competing requirements into a harmonious workflow, while considering material movement, build process flows, lifting and rigging solutions, and facilities requirementsDevelop data-collection and visualization tools for the manufacturing teams. Define and measure key metrics and KPIs across the teams to improve efficiency and qualityDeploy Lean/5S/Kaizen principles to eliminate waste and streamline workflowsPerform time studies, define inefficiencies, suggest and implement improvementsDevelop and own personnel-development tools such as skills matricesDevelop training materials for employees and managers to address safety, tribal knowledge, quality, and productivityLeverage MRP and ERP systems, and enterprise system teams, to make system enhancementsOptimize and accelerate existing manufacturing processesWork with production teams to identify key bottlenecks and pain points, and take initiative to address those bottlenecksSupport manufacturing capital projects, including new facility activations, automation efforts and new capability developmentMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in industrial engineering, or related fieldDemonstrate experience in developing and improving manufacturing and operations processesExperience working in a software development environment5+ years of demonstrated operations experiencePreferred Skills and ExperienceMasters' degree in an engineering discipline10+ years' of demonstrated operations experience within aerospace or related industry working with metallics structuresPrevious experience working within a start-up7+ years' of demonstrated experience with manufacturing automation (welding, machining, etc.)Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
