Altuva is building an investment platform focused on public‑market value creation. Its core strategy targets companies trading materially below intrinsic value, where active ownership, capital allocation, restructuring, or corporate transactions can help close the gap between market value and fundamental value.
Altuva is launching an adjacent strategy focused on public SaaS, ecommerce infrastructure, marketplaces, and digital platform companies trading at deeply compressed valuation multiples, often below 1.0x EV/revenue. The strategy applies a value‑investing discipline to software and digital businesses: acquiring misunderstood companies at distressed valuations where operational improvement, margin expansion, capital discipline, and strategic alternatives can unlock equity value.
Role Overview
Altuva is seeking a senior software operator‑investor to help lead this strategy. The ideal candidate has deep experience operating, investing in, or advising SaaS and digital platform businesses, with the credibility to lead diligence, develop value creation plans, engage with management teams and boards, and support investor conversations. This is a senior strategic role and may be structured as a full‑time partner, operating partner, venture partner, or senior advisor depending on the candidate’s profile and availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Help define Altuva’s investment framework for public SaaS, ecommerce infrastructure, marketplaces, and digital platforms.
- Identify and assess companies trading at distressed valuation multiples.
- Lead operating diligence on target companies, including revenue quality, retention, gross margins, GTM efficiency, pricing, cost structure, cash burn, and margin potential.
- Build value creation plans focused on operational improvement, margin expansion, capital allocation, strategic repositioning, and M&A.
- Support engagement with management teams, boards, strategic buyers, and other stakeholders.
- Help represent the strategy in investor‑facing materials and LP conversations.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 15+ years of experience in SaaS, software, ecommerce platforms, marketplaces, digital infrastructure, software private equity, growth equity, or public equity investing.
- Prior experience as a SaaS CEO, COO, CFO, CRO, board member, software PE operating partner, or software‑focused investor.
- Strong understanding of SaaS metrics, including ARR, NRR, GRR, CAC payback, LTV/CAC, gross margin, sales efficiency, churn, cash burn, and Rule of 40.
- Proven ability to diagnose underperforming software businesses and translate insights into practical value creation plans.
- Experience with public companies, activist situations, take‑privates, corporate transactions, or board‑level engagement is a strong plus.
Compensation
Prior to the first investment, compensation will be structured primarily through a combination of deferred compensation and success‑based fees tied to agreed milestones, including capital formation, strategic partnerships, transaction execution, or the closing of the first investment.
After the first investment, the role may transition into a broader partner‑level compensation structure, potentially including ongoing compensation, incentive economics, carry participation, and co‑investment opportunities.
