Senior Network EngineerPeraton is seeking a self-driven and resourceful Senior Network Engineer to join our dynamic team of network and UC engineers in Washington, DC. This position serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for the design, implementation, optimization, and troubleshooting of enterprise voice, video, and collaboration platforms.The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Cisco Unified Communications environments and extensive experience supporting secure, highly available enterprise communication systems. The engineer will ensure Quality of Service (QoS) standards are maintained for latency-sensitive traffic and will support both operational sustainment and strategic modernization initiatives.Senior Network Engineer responsibilities:Design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise unified communications environments.Administer and support collaboration platforms.Configure and support Session Border Controllers (SBCs), SIP trunks, voice gateways, and telephony integrations.Ensure Quality of Service (QoS) policies are properly implemented and optimized for voice and video traffic.Monitor system health, performance, and capacity to ensure high availability and operational reliability.Troubleshoot complex voice, video, signaling, and network interoperability issues.Support secure communications architectures and compliance with enterprise security requirements.Develop and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, operational procedures, and configuration baselines.Coordinate with network operations, cybersecurity, engineering, and support teams during outages, maintenance activities, and modernization efforts.Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and support personnel.Peraton is a next-generation national security company that drives missions of consequence spanning the globe and extending to the farthest reaches of the galaxy.

This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
