Senior Network EngineerCandidate must be located in the Eastern Time Zone (EST).The Senior Network Engineer is a senior technical leader responsible for architecting, securing, and optimizing enterprise network and infrastructure services across geographically distributed facilities and colocation environments. This role drives the reliability, security, and scalability of core platforms including Fortinet security infrastructure, virtualization clusters, enterprise storage systems, server platforms, and backup solutions, while partnering with IT leadership to support business growth and operational excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as technical owner for core network, infrastructure, and security platforms, including Microsoft 365 Security, ISO 27001 controls and compliance, Fortinet Next-Generation Firewall capabilities, and Barracuda Load Balancer security services.Own and maintain the organization's security posture, ensuring continuous compliance, remediation, and improvement across security platforms, policies, and controls.Lead ISO 27001 compliance efforts, including control implementation, evidence support, remediation tracking, and collaboration with audit and governance stakeholders.Administer, harden, and optimize Fortinet firewall infrastructure, leveraging next-generation capabilities such as IPS, application control, VPN, segmentation, and threat prevention.Manage and secure Microsoft 365 / Exchange Online (O365), including email security, identity protection, and tenant-level security configurations.Perform and oversee weekly Windows Server maintenance and patching, ensuring system stability, security, and uptime.Maintain and support in-house developed systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and resilience across all supporting server infrastructure.Own and operate the Hyper-V virtualization environment, including cluster management, performance tuning, and lifecycle planning.Administer and optimize enterprise storage platforms including Nimble SAN and QNAP network storage arrays, ensuring performance, redundancy, and data integrity.Lead the design and build of a redundant data center environment, including Hyper-V failover clustering and disaster recovery capabilities.Own and maintain Barracuda load balancers, SSL certificates, and associated security configurations to ensure secure, resilient application delivery.Ensure backup systems are fully operational, tested, and aligned with recovery objectives, while maintaining a secure network architecture.Design, install, and support LAN, WAN, network segmentation, Internet, and intranet systems supporting Windows, SQL Server, and Linux environments.Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security.Support daily IT operations by resolving escalated support tickets and serving as a senior technical escalation point.Monitor networks and systems to ensure availability, performance, and secure access for authorized users.Rapidly analyze, isolate, and resolve complex infrastructure and network issues to minimize business impact.Continuously evaluate system and network performance, implementing improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.Identify user, system, and business requirements to define future network and infrastructure needs.Maintain the integrity of network architecture, server deployments, and security controls across all environments.Assist with the development of IT policies, procedures, standards, and training, promoting operational excellence and security best practices.Participate in and lead infrastructure and security projects as security.Take technical ownership of critical systems and make sound decisions independently in high-impact situations.Troubleshoot and resolve complex, cross-domain issues spanning networking, security, virtualization, storage, and applications.Design and implement high-availability and disaster-recovery solutions, including failover and redundant architectures.Apply security-first thinking, proactively identifying risk and aligning controls with ISO 27001 and enterprise best practices.Communicate complex technical concepts, risks, and recommendations clearly to IT leadership and non-technical stakeholders.Prioritize and manage competing operational and project responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.Lead infrastructure initiatives from design through implementation, including documentation and operational handoff.Collaborate effectively across IT, security, operations, and vendors to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.Experience:Bachelor's or Technical degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience6+ years of progressive experience in enterprise network, infrastructure, and security engineering roles.Preferred Attributes:Fortinet NSE certificationsMicrosoft certificationsExperience supporting ISO 27001 compliance in an audited environmentWork Environment:Home / Warehouse Mix: This job operates as a remote roleAir and Driving Travel may be required for Projects, Training, and MeetingsThis role will require the ability to, on occasion, go in and out of trailers, navigate around roller racks, and other logistical equipment
