Role Overview
Seeking a Senior Technology Architect to support large-scale enterprise IT and network infrastructure initiatives. This role oversees the full lifecycle of local area network (LAN) infrastructure — spanning architecture, design, implementation, operations, and ongoing enhancement. The position interfaces with senior technical and business stakeholders and requires strong independent judgment within complex environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide operational support for escalated issues, break-fix activities, and proactive maintenance until permanent remediation is implemented.
- Architect, design, configure, test, implement, and support on-premise and cloud networking solutions.
- Participate in deployments, upgrades, and module rollouts across production environments.
- Maintain reliability across enterprise network facilities through lifecycle planning and roadmap development.
- Validate technical requests against existing architecture to ensure alignment with business needs.
- Identify and document technical requirements and deliver cost-optimized solutions that enhance performance and scalability.
- Develop and enforce reusable architectural standards, policies, procedures, metrics, and regulatory guidelines.
- Ensure designs align with security, compliance, and quality assurance standards.
- Perform root-cause analysis and propose corrective actions based on impact assessments.
- Support and maintain established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Identify automation opportunities and streamline operational workflows.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and industry trends.
Required Technical Experience
- 6+ years in technical engineering and/or architectural roles designing, developing, implementing, operating, and supporting network projects or IT systems.
- Hands-on experience with at least three (3) of the following:
- Cisco Switches
- F5 Load Balancers
- Cisco Wireless Controllers
- Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)
- Cisco Network Access Control (NAC)
- 2–3 years in network operations support, troubleshooting, or comparable technical support/development.
- 2+ years supporting internal and/or external stakeholders and translating business needs into network or infrastructure solutions.
- 1+ year applying architectural frameworks, including:
- Architecture and solution roadmaps
- Lifecycle and replacement planning
- Technology evaluations and proof-of-concept work
- Strong communication, leadership, facilitation, and consultative skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with scripting and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Ansible).
- Professional certifications such as:
- PMP
- ITIL
- Lean Six Sigma
- Familiarity with the following is beneficial:
- Directory services (LDAP, DNS, Active Directory)
- CMDB platforms
- ITSM platforms (e.g., ServiceNow)
- Network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds)
- Cybersecurity toolsets
- Utility industry environments
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
- Ability to work independently under consultative direction and determine best methods for new initiatives.
- Experience engaging with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
