Akkodis is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer with advanced IPv6 expertise to lead critical network modernization initiatives. In this role, you will assess existing infrastructure, develop scalable IPv6 architectures, and oversee testing and implementation efforts that enable a secure and efficient transition from IPv4 to next-generation networking.


The ideal candidate combines deep technical knowledge of IPv6, dual-stack environments, multicast technologies, and Cisco networking platforms with the ability to create robust designs, solve complex technical challenges, and guide stakeholders through large-scale network transformation projects.


Rate Range: $60/hour to $75/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.


Responsibilities include:

  • Analyze existing network infrastructure to determine IPv6 readiness across routing, switching, firewall, and endpoint environments.
  • Review current IPv4 deployments and identify technical gaps, risks, and opportunities for IPv6 adoption.
  • Validate IPv6 support across hardware, software, and Cisco IOS/IOS-XE feature sets.
  • Document current network architecture and deliver detailed assessments, recommendations, and migration strategies.
  • Create scalable IPv4/IPv6 dual-stack architectures that support business continuity while enabling full IPv6 functionality.
  • Develop structured IPv6 addressing schemes aligned with long-term growth and operational requirements.
  • Design multicast routing solutions for IPv6 environments.
  • Produce comprehensive high-level and detailed technical design documentation, including network diagrams, routing policies, and IP allocation strategies.
  • Partner with infrastructure, security, and application teams to ensure seamless end-to-end IPv6 integration.


Desired Qualifications:

  • Cisco CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure or CCIE Service Provider certification.
  • Experience using automation tools such as Python or Ansible to streamline IPv6 deployments.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and visibility tools utilizing SNMP, NetFlow, and IPv6 performance analytics.
  • Knowledge of security controls within dual-stack environments, including IPv6 ACL design and implementation.
  • Experience supporting enterprise-wide or large-scale IPv6 migration initiatives.
  • Understanding of government or regulatory IPv6 compliance requirements, including mandates such as OMB M-21-07.
