Senior Network EngineerOCH Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to join our team supporting the FAA. This role involves complex network infrastructure systems across multiple sites. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with enterprise-level systems, strong expertise in Cisco and VMware technologies, and a proven ability to troubleshoot complex, interconnected environments. This role also requires excellent documentation skills, as well as experience managing system upgrades and evaluating new technologies and solutions.This posting is intended to build a talent pipeline for anticipated future opportunities.Location: Hybrid- FAA William J.

Hughes Technical Center - Egg Harbor, NJCore Responsibilities & DutiesDesign, implement, and maintain highly available, secure, and scalable network architectures.Oversee operations and performance of environments, ensuring uptime, redundancy, and resilience.Implement network modernization, optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.Manage and support core networking technologies including routing, switching, load balancing, and network security.Provide Tier 2 troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex network issues.Oversee and optimize performance using monitoring and diagnostic tools.Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams to ensure seamless system integration.Create and maintain network documentation, standards, and SOPs.Support federal compliance standards and frameworks (e.g., NIST, FAA guidelines where applicable).Participate in strategic planning, capacity planning, and technology road mapping.Participate in on-call rotation for critical issues.Support configuration management and IT logistics activities.Assist with systems testing and maintenance.Occasional travel to government facilities is required.Monitor and analyze network logs, alerts, and telemetry to proactively identify and address potential failures before they impact operations.Perform security maintenance tasks on network infrastructure including vulnerability remediation, compliance patching, and verification of security hardening standards.The responsibilities and duties listed above are flexible and subject to change based on operational need.RequirementsMinimum QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in engineering, Science or MathExperience:A minimum of eight (8+) years of relevant experience in network engineering including design, implementationExperience with Cisco networking technologies (routing, switching, firewalls)Hands on experience implementing high availability and failover solutions (HSRP, VRRP, redundant paths, load balancing)Experience with network disaster recovery planning and executionExperience managing multi-site enterprise network environmentsExperience supporting both Windows and Linux environmentsExperience with VMware virtualization platformsExperience with network monitoring and analysis tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark, ManageEngine, or equivalent)Strong understanding of network security principles and best practicesExperience creating technical documentation and system diagramsSecurity Clearance Requirement: Candidate must have the ability to hold and maintain a Secret ClearancePreferred QualificationsExperience with Cisco technologies including ASA, ISR, and Catalyst platformsExperience with data center network operationsFamiliarity with Jira, Confluence, and BitbucketExperience with closed network systems and data streaming protocolsExperience with wide area network engineering and radar data distribution environmentsProficient in Linux environments, primarily RHEL and CentOSExperience with automation and scripting (Python, Ansible, etc.)FAA NAS experienceExperience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure) and hybrid cloud environmentsFamiliarity with CIS security guidelines and configuration complianceRelevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or other networking or security certificationsOther Required Skills and AbilitiesStrong problem solving and analytical skillsStrong troubleshooting skills in complex, interconnected environmentsStrong communication and teamwork abilitiesSelf-motivated with ability to work independentlyAbility to adapt to evolving technologies and changing requirementsStrong organizational and documentation skillsAbout Us: At OCH, we are more than just a government contracting firm; we are innovators and leaders in providing cutting-edge IT services and cybersecurity solutions.
