Overview

Our client is seeking a Senior Mobile Application Developer to build and enhance next-generation smart access solutions. This role is focused on developing mobile applications that communicate with connected devices using NFC, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), and cloud-based services.

The ideal candidate has strong mobile development experience, a background in hardware-integrated applications, and expertise building secure, highly available mobile solutions that function in both online and offline environments.

Key Responsibilities

Mobile Development

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Android (Kotlin) and/or iOS (Swift) applications.
• Build scalable, secure, and user-friendly mobile experiences for smart lock and access-control solutions.
• Ensure consistency in application architecture, performance, and user experience across platforms.

NFC & Smart Device Integration

• Develop NFC-enabled mobile capabilities including:
  • Tap-to-unlock functionality
  • Credential provisioning and exchange
  • Secure credential storage and validation
  • Offline authentication workflows
• Optimize NFC functionality across multiple device manufacturers and operating systems.
• Troubleshoot and improve device connectivity and performance.

IoT Connectivity

• Integrate mobile applications with connected IoT devices.
• Implement NFC and BLE communication strategies, including fallback mechanisms.
• Support reliable operation in low-connectivity and offline-use scenarios.

Security & Authentication

• Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms.
• Apply best practices for encryption, credential management, and secure storage.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise security standards.

Cloud & Backend Integration

• Integrate mobile applications with REST APIs and cloud services (AWS/GCP).
• Collaborate with backend engineers to design mobile-first APIs and workflows.
• Support synchronization of device status, activity logs, permissions, and user access controls.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of mobile application development experience using Android (Kotlin) and/or iOS (Swift).
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with NFC technologies and frameworks:
  • Android NFC APIs
  • Core NFC (iOS)
• 3+ years of experience with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).
• 3+ years of experience developing applications that integrate with IoT devices or physical hardware.
• Experience with React Native or other cross-platform mobile frameworks.
• Experience consuming REST APIs and integrating with cloud-based platforms.
• Strong understanding of mobile application architecture, performance optimization, and security best practices.

Preferred Experience

• Smart lock, access control, or physical security solutions
• IoT ecosystems and connected-device environments
• Offline-first mobile applications
• AWS or GCP cloud environments
• Mobile security and authentication platforms
