Senior Medical Science Liaison – Immunology (Dermatology) (Long Island, NY territory)

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a scientific engagement plan aligned to Medical Affairs strategy and approved medical assets.
• Conduct high-quality two-way scientific exchange with KOLs and HCPs; identify trends, unmet needs, and educational gaps.
• Build professional relationships with community and academic HCPs/KOLs to advance scientific credibility.
• Use MSL tools/insights to plan engagements and proactively identify gaps, risks, and opportunities.
• Leverage AI tools to enhance decision-making, streamline processes, and improve efficiency/outcomes.
• Identify and address provider educational needs with tailored, scientifically balanced communication.
• Deliver and discuss relevant scientific data; translate complex evidence appropriately and compliantly.
• Generate, consolidate, and share actionable insights to inform medical strategy and cross-functional planning.
• Serve as point-of-contact for investigators and internal partners for company-sponsored and investigator-initiated studies.
• Respond promptly to unsolicited external research/clinical inquiries with objective, compliant information.
• Execute Medical Affairs strategy and MSL priorities; balance short- and long-term objectives.
• Compliantly collaborate in a matrix with internal partners and appropriate role-defined interactions with Sales/Marketing.
• Maintain scientific acumen via self-study, journal clubs, seminars, congresses; support development of others.
• Foster inclusion and belonging; support collaborative One J&J goals.
• Understand regulatory/healthcare compliance guidelines, corporate conduct/ethics policies, and Medical Affairs SOPs.
• Develop/implement performance and development plan and additional leadership projects.
• Complete administrative requirements (e.g., expenses, activity documentation).

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree or equivalent experience required (PharmD, PhD, MD, Advanced Practice Providers, etc.); post-graduate experience required for doctoral candidates.
• 2+ years relevant experience, including demonstrated success as an MSL.
• Strong scientific/therapeutic expertise (research, data analysis, clinical expertise, problem-solving, strategic thinking, cross-functional collaboration).
• Ability to cover territory with up to 70% travel.
• Must hold a valid US Driver’s License (preferred).

Preferred

• Residency/fellowship; therapeutic area knowledge/experience.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CoPilot, and remote technologies.
• Commitment to emerging technologies (e.g., AI).
• Related clinical, research, or pharma experience.
