Senior Medical Science Liaison – Immunology (Dermatology) (Long Island, NY territory)

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a scientific engagement plan aligned with Medical Affairs strategy, objectives, and core assets.
  • Conduct high-quality, two-way scientific exchange with KOLs/HCPs; identify trends, unmet needs, and educational gaps.
  • Build relationships with community and academic HCPs/KOLs to advance scientific credibility.
  • Use MSL tools/insights to enhance customer engagement strategy; proactively identify gaps, risks, and opportunities.
  • Leverage AI tools to improve decision-making, streamline processes, and efficiency/outcomes.
  • Assess provider educational needs; deliver tailored, scientifically balanced, non-promotional information.
  • Translate complex clinical evidence via clear dialogue/presentations; adapt communication and ensure balanced, evidence-based responses.
  • Collect and submit actionable insights to inform medical strategy and cross-functional discussions.
  • Serve as point of contact for company-sponsored and investigator-initiated studies.
  • Respond promptly to unsolicited clinical/research inquiries with objective, compliant information.
  • Compliantly collaborate in the matrix (MSL field partners, R&D, Global Medical Affairs, clinical ops; role-defined interactions with Sales/Marketing).
  • Maintain scientific acumen via ongoing education and congress participation; support development of others.
  • Support inclusion and belonging; contribute to One J&J goals.
  • Maintain regulatory/healthcare compliance and Medical Affairs SOPs; complete administrative requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Doctorate level degree or equivalent experience required (PharmD, PhD, MD, Advanced Practice Providers, etc.); post-graduate experience required (preference for therapeutic clinical experience).
  • 2+ years relevant experience, including demonstrated success as an MSL.
  • Strong scientific/therapeutic expertise (research, data analysis, clinical expertise, problem-solving, strategic thinking, cross-functional collaboration).
  • Ability to travel up to 70%.
  • Preferred: valid US Driver’s License.

Preferred:

  • Residency/fellowship; therapeutic area knowledge/experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CoPilot; remote technology.
  • Demonstrated commitment to learning emerging technologies (e.g., AI).
  • Related clinical/research/pharma experience.
