Senior Medical Director (Retina)

The Role

The Senior Medical Director will provide strategic and clinical leadership across late-stage ophthalmology programs. This individual will play a pivotal role in shaping clinical development strategy, collaborating cross-functionally, and engaging with regulatory authorities and key opinion leaders.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the medical lead for late-stage clinical development programs in ophthalmology.
• Provide clinical oversight for protocol design, execution, and data interpretation.
• Partner with regulatory affairs on submissions and interactions with global health authorities.
• Represent the company at medical and scientific meetings, establishing strong KOL and investigator relationships.
• Contribute to publication strategy and medical communications to support development programs.
• Provide clinical input to cross-functional teams including Clinical Operations, Biometrics, and Safety.
• Mentor and guide junior physicians and clinical development staff.

Qualifications

• MD with Board Certification in Ophthalmology required.
• 3+ years of industry experience within biotech or pharmaceutical clinical development.
• Demonstrated success in late-stage clinical development and regulatory submissions.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.
• Track record of building relationships with investigators, KOLs, and regulatory authorities.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced biotech environment.
