Senior Medical Coding Specialist

To support a growing health system, the full-time Senior Medical Coding Specialist will review and assign diagnostic and procedural codes for outpatient encounters while working remotely, ensuring compliance and providing training to staff. Key Responsibilities Develop efficient workflows to prioritize complex coding tasks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements Utilize coding classification systems to ensure accurate code selection and address documentation gaps Provide guidance and support to coding staff on complex coding scenarios and stay updated on coding regulations Required Qualifications 4 years of relevant work experience in medical coding High School Diploma or GED Certification as a Certified Coding Associate, Certified Coding Specialist, or Certified Professional Coder Advanced knowledge of medical terminology and outpatient facility coding practices Experience with compliance and regulatory requirements in healthcare coding
