HDR is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer for its Missouri-based Power Generation team. The role focuses on leading mechanical aspects of power and energy projects across utility, IPP, industrial, institutional, and municipal sectors.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead the project mechanical team and coordinate with other engineering disciplines.
- Monitor and communicate project status.
- Provide mechanical engineering support for detailed design and owner's engineer projects, both technical and contractual.
- Travel for site surveys, technical conferences, client meetings, and construction monitoring (typically <10%).
Typical Deliverables
- Construction drawings, bid specifications, pipe stress analyses, mechanical equipment sizing calculations, technical memos, bid evaluations, code reviews, feasibility studies, reports, and cost estimates.
Preferred Qualifications
- Significant experience with industrial- and utility-scale power generation systems and equipment, and proven ability to plan, schedule, and lead design projects.
- Experience with the design and specification of power generation systems for simple cycle, combined cycle, distributed generation, RICE, CHP, and renewables projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Minimum of 10 years of experience
- Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location (PE or P.Eng).
- Extensive experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office and standard Power Market Sector design software (PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, Revit).
