HDR is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer for its Missouri-based Power Generation team. The role focuses on leading mechanical aspects of power and energy projects across utility, IPP, industrial, institutional, and municipal sectors.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the project mechanical team and coordinate with other engineering disciplines.
  • Monitor and communicate project status.
  • Provide mechanical engineering support for detailed design and owner's engineer projects, both technical and contractual.
  • Travel for site surveys, technical conferences, client meetings, and construction monitoring (typically <10%).

Typical Deliverables

  • Construction drawings, bid specifications, pipe stress analyses, mechanical equipment sizing calculations, technical memos, bid evaluations, code reviews, feasibility studies, reports, and cost estimates.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Significant experience with industrial- and utility-scale power generation systems and equipment, and proven ability to plan, schedule, and lead design projects.
  • Experience with the design and specification of power generation systems for simple cycle, combined cycle, distributed generation, RICE, CHP, and renewables projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience
  • Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location (PE or P.Eng).
  • Extensive experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office and standard Power Market Sector design software (PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, Revit).
  • Attitude and commitment to being an active participant of an employee-owned culture.
