Job Description

  • Lead the estimating process from conceptual design through final proposal.
  • Prepare accurate estimates for HVAC, Plumbing, and Mechanical Piping projects.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and construction documents for pricing strategies.
  • Perform design calculations and assist with equipment and material selection.
  • Evaluate labor productivity, contingencies, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Solicit, review, and analyze vendor and subcontractor quotations.
  • Develop labor budgets for awarded projects.
  • Build and maintain relationships with contractors, owners, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Attend pre-bid, turnover, and project kickoff meetings.
  • Support bid tracking, bid reviews, bid bonds, and document procurement.
  • Mentor and assist Estimator Trainees and promote best practices.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, and Mechanical Piping systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Solid understanding of plumbing and mechanical codes.
  • Experience using estimating software such as AutoBid, Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, and similar tools.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Strategic thinker with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical discipline, or 10+ years field experience in HVAC, Plumbing, or Mechanical Piping, or 5+ years estimating experience in mechanical construction industry.
